Celebration of the 20th Anniversary on September 11th 2010 of the John Lewis Building in Kingston Upon Thames Surrey – Open Photography Competition Reception Evening

September 9, 2010

To celebrate the 20th Anniversary on September 11th 2010 of the John Lewis building in Kingston, John Lewis staged an Open Photography Competition, the subject being the John Lewis Kingston Building. My photographic work “Years Go By – John Lewis Partnership 2010” was one of 30 shortlisted photographs selected for an exhibition at “The Place To Eat” which is part of the John Lewis Kingston Building.  A very nice part too!  Especially last night at the Reception. A very interesting talk by Paul Koralek RA was followed by a delicious buffet and drinks. I enjoyed chatting to some of the other artists…it’s always very interesting to find out more about their images and what lies behind them. The standard was very high, and the exhibition looks good.  I am not sure how long it will on display at The Place To Eat right now, but I think it’s for a few months, so do pop along and see it if you are in the area.

There is some more detailed information on the thinking behind this photographic artwork on my website www.jennymeehan.co.uk under the Photography section.
