I love looking in the local charity shop. I wonder who the objects in the window belonged to. Some past owners are probably dead. I wonder why those living threw certain objects out. I’ve always had an interest in things people throw away. In my photographs (the ones I let remain photographic!) I am interested in reflections and the effects of light caused by these…I like the dematerialising effects possible. It’s dreamlike. The shiny surface of ceramic objects works well, and combined with the glass of the shop window, there’s quite a lot of confusion. I don’t know how much this little dog did cost, by the way, and I didn’t buy him!
